Finally managed to update my sites (with the exception of one which is being finalised) to the latest version of Textpattern – 4.2.0.
One of the best features of 4.2.0 is the multi-site support. What this basically means is that you can run many sites off only one installation of TXP, so in the future you only have to upgrade the one install.
To make this site run on multi-sites, I had to change the TXP Minima and TXP Minima Photoblog locations. Previously the templates were run by separate TXP installs, but this was unwieldy and a pain to update. In addition the multi-sites feature does not support the nested sub-domains.
So now the templates are stored in sections of this site which actually makes things much easier. I am motivated to update the templates for 4.2.0, and will do so soon. I’ll also get around to producing a new template or two.
Today I released a new template from the TXP Minima series – TXP Minima Photoblog.
The template is designed to be a simple photoblog, focusing on the images and content rather than the design. The styles may easily be extended/adapted, and I have included some generic layout classes for flexibility.
Included are several plugins required, including hcg_templates which is needed for importing the template. Instructions are in the readme.txt file.
Some features:
- Valid XHTML and lean CSS
- Most code stored in forms (easy to update/change)
- Designed for a photoblog, but could easily be adapted
- Extra layout classes included for flexibility and control
- Contact form and Archive
- Required plugins included
- Uses TXP tags to reduce the number of plugins

Back in July 2007, I entered a simple template design into the Textplates 2007 competition.
Textplates features template designs for the Textpattern content management system, an ultra-light and elegant CMS.
If you are looking to download the template, which is called TXP Minima, please either visit the Textplates TXP Minima page, or just go to the demo site I set up here.
